Free Printable Isometric Graph Paper & Dot Paper

Isometric graph paper with a 3D cube drawing and a pencil

Free printable isometric paper for drawing 3D shapes, room layouts, game maps and technical sketches. There are three isometric grids (triangles at 30° and 90°), two isometric dot papers and a hexagon grid for board games and quilting.

Download the PDF in US Letter or A4, or the SVG to rescale the grid for a laser cutter, Cricut or design app.

Every sheet is low-ink: thin, light lines on a white page, so a whole pad’s worth prints fast and cheaply on any home printer.

All 6 isometric sheets in one PDF. 6 pages, one per page.

Isometric graph paper with 1 cm triangles

Isometric grid · 1 cm

Triangles with 1 cm sides. Big enough for kids learning to draw cubes.

Fine 5 mm isometric grid paper

Isometric grid · 5 mm

A finer triangle grid for detailed 3D sketches and pixel-style isometric art.

Quarter inch isometric graph paper printable

Isometric grid · 1/4 in

Imperial spacing with 1/4 inch sides, for US drafting classes.

Isometric dot paper with 1 cm spacing

Isometric dot paper · 1 cm

Dots instead of lines, so finished drawings look clean. Used in maths for 3D shapes and volume.

Isometric dot paper with 5 mm spacing

Isometric dot paper · 5 mm

Close dot spacing for bullet-journal style isometric art.

Hexagon graph paper printable

Hexagon graph paper

A honeycomb grid of 6 mm hexagons for board game maps, quilt planning and chemistry rings.

How to draw a cube on isometric paper

Pick a point and draw a line straight up two dots or triangles. From its top and bottom, follow the 30° lines two steps to the left and two to the right. Join the ends with vertical lines, then close the top with two more 30° lines. Shade one face to make the cube pop.

How to print isometric paper

  1. Use Actual size. That keeps the 1 cm or 1/4 inch spacing exact.
  2. Pick lines or dots. Lines are easier for beginners. Dots give cleaner finished drawings.
  3. Draw lightly first. Sketch in pencil, then go over the final lines with a fine pen.
Free for home, classroom and office use. Print as many copies as you need. Please link to this page rather than re-uploading the files, and do not sell them.

Questions

What is isometric paper used for?

Drawing 3D objects without perspective: cubes and solids in maths, product sketches, room and game maps, and isometric pixel art.

What is the difference between isometric grid and isometric dot paper?

The grid has full triangle lines. Dot paper only marks the corners, so finished drawings look cleaner.

What angle is isometric paper?

The lines run vertically and at 30° either side of horizontal, giving equal 60° triangles.

Can I use hexagon paper for board games?

Yes. It suits hex-based war games, tabletop RPG maps and Catan-style layouts.
