Where to use a now hiring sign
- Shop, café and restaurant windows facing the street
- The front counter or host stand, next to the till
- Community boards at libraries, colleges and grocery stores
- Job fairs and open-hiring days
- Seasonal hiring for the holidays or summer
How to print and hang it
- Pick a design and download the PDF. US Letter and A4 are both landscape. The JPG is there if you want to add it to a document or print shop order.
- Print on card stock if you can. Heavier paper stays flat on a door or window. For colour signs, use your printer’s best quality setting.
- Protect it. Slide it into a sheet protector or laminate it so it survives fingerprints, rain and cleaning.
- Hang it at eye level. Use tape on glass, a frame on a wall, or zip ties through punched holes on a fence or gate.
Questions
Can I write the job titles on the sign?
Yes. The “Positions” design has four blank lines, and the full-time/part-time design has a line for your website or email. Use a thick marker so it reads from the street.
Which design works best in a window?
Bold designs read best through glass: the red “Now Hiring · Apply Within” or the black-and-yellow version. Tape it facing out at eye level.
Is “help wanted” the same as “now hiring”?
Both mean you are recruiting. “Help wanted” feels traditional and local; “now hiring” and “we’re hiring” feel more modern. Pick the one that fits your shop.
Can I use these for my business?
Yes — they are free for business use. Print as many as you need.
