How to make them
- Print on white cardstock. 65–110 lb (175–300 gsm) matte cardstock gives the watercolor look and a tag that survives the trip under the tree. In the print dialog choose Actual size or 100%, not “Fit to page”.
- Cut along the green outline. Scissors are fine; a paper trimmer makes the long straight sides quicker. The clipped top corners are the only angled cuts.
- Punch the circle at the top with a standard ⅛–¼ inch hole punch.
- Write the names on the To and From lines — a fine-tip pen or gel pen works best on cardstock.
- Tie on with ribbon, baker’s twine or jute, or tape the tag flat to the paper.

- Cookie and treat plates: the tags are the right size to tape onto a cellophane bag or a jar lid.

Questions people ask
How big are the gift tags?
About 1.8 × 3 inches (4.6 × 7.6 cm) when printed at 100% — a standard small gift tag. Twelve fit on one US Letter or A4 page.
Can I print them bigger?
Use the PNG and print it at up to about 2.25 × 3.75 inches (5.7 × 9.5 cm); beyond that the watercolor texture starts to soften. The PDFs are fixed at the standard size so the 12-per-page layout stays within printer margins.
Can I type the names instead of writing them?
The To and From lines are part of the picture, so the PDFs are not fillable. Download the PNG, add text in any photo or design app, then print.
Can I cut them with a Cricut or Silhouette?
Yes, with Print Then Cut: upload the PNG (it has a transparent background, so the machine picks up the tag shape). These are full-color printables, not layered SVG cut files.
What paper works best?
Bright white matte cardstock. Glossy photo paper makes the colors pop but is harder to write on with a normal pen.
