Free Printable Graph Paper (PDF & SVG)

Six free printable graph paper sheets in the grid sizes people actually use: 1/4 inch (the classic school size), 1/5 inch engineering grid, fine 1/8 inch, large 1/2 inch, and metric 1 cm and 5 mm. Each one has a darker line every inch or centimetre so it is easy to count squares.
The PDFs are true to scale on US Letter or A4, and the SVG lets you resize or recolour the grid in Illustrator, Inkscape, Cricut Design Space or Canva.
Every sheet is low-ink: thin, light lines on a white page, so a whole pad’s worth prints fast and cheaply on any home printer.
All 6 graph paper sheets in one PDF. 6 pages, one per page.

1/4 inch graph paper
4 squares per inch with a heavier line every inch. The standard for maths homework, charts and floor plans.

1/5 inch engineering grid
5 squares per inch โ the engineering and science pad grid. Good for plotting data to scale.

1/8 inch graph paper
A fine 8-per-inch grid for detailed drawings, pixel art and cross-stitch charts.

1/2 inch graph paper
Big squares for young children, large-print maths and sketching room layouts.

1 cm graph paper
Metric squares with a heavier line every 5 cm. The usual grid for maths in metric countries.

5 mm graph paper
Metric 5 mm squares with a heavier line every centimetre โ like a squared exercise book.
How to print graph paper at the right size
- Choose Actual size or 100%. Fit to page shrinks the grid slightly, so a 1/4 inch square is no longer exactly 1/4 inch.
- Match your paper. Use the Letter PDF on US paper and the A4 PDF everywhere else. Both keep the grid size exact.
- Check one square. Measure a heavy-line square with a ruler after the first print. If it is off, your printer is scaling the page.
- Print a stack. The light blue lines use very little ink, so printing 20 or 50 sheets at once is fine.

How do I print graph paper without it shrinking?
In the print dialogue choose Actual size or 100% scale, not Fit to page or Shrink to fit.
Can I change the grid colour?
