Free Printable Number Lines (0–10, 0–20, 0–100)

Free printable number lines for counting, adding, subtracting and fractions. Choose 0–10 or 0–20 for early maths, 0–100 for counting in tens, an integer number line from −10 to 10, fraction number lines in halves, quarters, thirds and eighths, or blank number lines to label yourself.

Each page has three or four lines, so one sheet covers a few problems.

How to use a number line

  1. Add by hopping right. For 7 + 5, start at 7 and make five hops to 12.
  2. Subtract by hopping left. For 12 − 5, start at 12 and hop back five.
  3. Use negatives. On the integer line, −3 + 5 starts left of zero and ends at 2.

A straight line with numbers placed at equal spaces, used to count, compare and do sums.

Split the space from 0 to 1 into equal parts — four parts for quarters — and label each tick.

What are blank number lines for?

Children write in their own numbers, which helps with counting on from any start point and with skip counting.
