How to use these mazes
- Pick a level. Easy mazes have wide paths and few dead ends. Medium mazes add more turns and walled-off holes. Hard mazes are large, with narrow paths and long dead ends.
- Download and print page 1. Each PDF is two pages: the maze, then the answer key. Print at Actual size (100%).
- Start at the top. Every maze begins at the arrow marked START and ends at FINISH at the bottom. There is exactly one path between them.
- Stuck? Page 2 shows the route as an orange line.

Questions people ask
Which maze suits which age?
The easy mazes work from about three or four. Medium mazes suit most children from six. The hard mazes — up to 37 cells across — will keep older children and adults busy for a while.
Is there only one way through?
Yes. Every maze was generated so there is exactly one path from START to FINISH, and every part of the shape can be reached.
Why do some mazes have holes in them?
The skull’s eyes and the jack-o’-lantern’s eyes and grin are walled off, so you have to find a way around them. It is what makes those two look like faces.
Do I need a colour printer?
No. The shape is filled with a pale orange on screen, but the walls are black and the maze prints clearly in black and white.
Can I use these at a class party?
Yes, print as many as you need. The easy mazes are good for the youngest children at a mixed-age party while the older ones do the crosswords.
