A six-sided box with a little more geometry than the usual square. The walls fold up from the base and a matching lid lifts off — great for soaps, jewelry, spices, or a small bundle of sweets. Group several together for a honeycomb gift display.

How to assemble
- Cut — Cut the base and the lid — each is a hexagon floor with six wall flaps and glue tabs.
- Score — Score the six base fold lines and the six tab folds.
- Fold — Fold all six walls up to form the hexagon, folding the glue tabs inward.
- Glue — Glue each tab behind the neighboring wall. Repeat for the lid and lift it on.
Cardstock tip: Use 65–110 lb (176–300 gsm) cardstock. 65 lb folds easily for small boxes; 80–110 lb gives larger boxes and lids more structure. Always score before folding.
Decorating & Gift Ideas
The hexagon box brings a geometric, modern edge that round and square boxes cannot match — those six clean sides make it look designed rather than just folded. It is a stylish home for candy, a candle, bath bombs, potpourri, or a small piece of jewelry, and it stacks and clusters beautifully for table displays. Use it for modern weddings, baby showers with a “bee” or honeycomb theme, or upscale party favors. The flat-topped lid gives you a generous panel to decorate: a vinyl monogram, a geometric paper topper, or a sprig of dried flowers tucked under the ribbon. Cut each of the six side panels in alternating colors for a faceted, gem-like effect.
File Formats & Compatibility
The hexagon box downloads as an SVG and a DXF. Open the SVG in Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Designer Edition, or the DXF in the free Silhouette Studio or a Glowforge laser. Six sides means six precise folds, so scoring is key — the score lines stay on their own layer and should be set to Score so each angled wall folds crisply and the lid sits flat and even on top.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why won’t my hexagon sit flat?
Uneven folds are the cause. Score all six creases and sharpen them so each panel meets its neighbor at the same angle; that is what keeps the base level.
Does it have a separate lid?
Yes — the template includes a matching hexagonal lid that lifts off, so you can fill the box and cap it cleanly.
What size items fit?
It suits small contents like candy, a candle, bath bombs, or jewelry. Scale the template up proportionally for larger gifts.
Can I cut the panels in different colors?
The box folds from one piece, so for a multi-color faceted look, cut the lid or an outer wrap in a contrasting stock and layer it on.
