Give a single cupcake the gift-box treatment. This set includes the box, a lift-off lid, and a hold-in insert with a round hole that cradles the cupcake so it arrives upright and unsmushed. Lovely for birthdays, thank-yous, and bake-sale singles.

How to assemble
- Cut — Cut all three pieces on one sheet: the base tray, the lid, and the insert with its round hole.
- Score — Score the tray, lid and insert fold lines.
- Fold — Fold and glue the base tray and the lid. Fold the four insert legs straight down.
- Glue — Drop the insert into the base so it sits raised on its legs, seat the cupcake in the hole, and lift the lid on.
Cardstock tip: Use 65–110 lb (176–300 gsm) cardstock. 65 lb folds easily for small boxes; 80–110 lb gives larger boxes and lids more structure. Always score before folding.
Decorating & Gift Ideas
The cupcake box is purpose-built to carry cupcakes without smashing the frosting — an insert cradles the base while the tall lid clears the swirl on top. That makes it the hero of birthday parties, bake sales, and “a cupcake just for you” gifts, whether you are sending one show-stopper or a small set. It is equally handy for muffins, a single large cookie, or a frosted treat that needs headroom. Brand it like a bakery with a vinyl shop name, or match it to a party theme with a colored lid and a printed topper. A window cut into the lid, backed with acetate, lets the cupcake show off before it is even opened — finish with a twine bow and a “happy birthday” tag.
File Formats & Compatibility
The cupcake box downloads as an SVG and a DXF. Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Designer Edition open the SVG; the free Silhouette Studio and Glowforge-style lasers open the DXF, which is great for cutting a clean lid window. The box, lid, and insert each fold from scored lines kept on their own layer — set them to Score and crease firmly so the insert holds the cupcake steady and the tall lid stays square.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it protect the frosting?
Yes — the tall lid is designed to clear a frosted swirl, and the insert keeps the cupcake from sliding so the topping does not smear against the sides.
How many cupcakes does it hold?
This template is built for a single cupcake. For multiples, cut several boxes, or scale the design into a larger multi-well carrier.
Is it food safe?
Use a paper cupcake liner and, if needed, a food-safe wrap, since the cardstock itself is not food-grade.
Can I add a display window?
Absolutely. Cut an opening in the lid and tape clear acetate behind it so the cupcake is visible while staying protected.
