VectorDad’s arch text generator bends text along a clean upward or downward arc — perfect for badge logos, Cricut tumblers, monograms, and branded designs. Here’s how to use it and get the most out of every setting.
Step 1 — Type Your Text
Enter your text in the input field. Arch text works best with short, punchy phrases — a name, a tagline, a date, or a place name. Most badge and logo designs use 2–6 words for the arch, keeping it readable at smaller sizes.
Step 2 — Choose Arch Direction
Select whether the text arches upward or downward:
- Arch up — text curves upward like the top of a circle. This is the most common direction, used for the top of badges, seals, and circular logos.
- Arch down — text curves downward, used for the bottom half of a circular design. Pair an arched-up line with an arched-down line to create a full circle of text around a central graphic.
Step 3 — Adjust the Arc Radius
The arc radius controls how tightly the text curves:
- Small radius — tighter curve, more circular. Good for compact badge designs.
- Large radius — gentler, more subtle arch. Good for longer text or when you want a softer look.
Adjust letter spacing alongside the radius — wider spacing keeps letters from crowding together on a tight curve.
Step 4 — Pick a Font
Choose from the font dropdown. For professional badge and logo designs, bold serif or all-caps fonts give a strong, authoritative look. For personalised gifts and Cricut projects, script and handwriting fonts add a warm, personal feel.
For Cricut and Silhouette cuts, choose fonts with medium to bold strokes — fine hairlines can snap or tear when cutting from vinyl or iron-on material.
Step 5 — Download SVG or PNG
- SVG — ideal for Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, Canva Pro, Illustrator, and Affinity Designer. Stays perfectly sharp at any size.
- PNG — ideal for Canva Free, Word documents, print shops, and sublimation printing.
Building a Full Circular Badge Design
The arch text generator is especially powerful when you use two arched layers together:
- Create an arch up version with your main text (e.g., a brand name or location).
- Create an arch down version with a secondary line (e.g., a year, tagline, or website).
- Import both SVGs into Cricut Design Space or Canva and align them to form a circle.
- Add a central graphic, monogram, or icon inside the circle to complete the badge.
Popular Uses for Arched Text
- Cricut tumblers and cups — arched text wraps elegantly around the curve of a tumbler.
- Badge and seal logos — the classic circular badge design uses arched text on both the top and bottom.
- Iron-on transfers — arched text on T-shirts, hoodies, and hats for sports teams, events, and personalised gifts.
- Custom stamps and stickers — arched text around a circular stamp or sticker design.
- Wedding favours — couples’ names and a date arched on bottle labels, bags, or favour tags.
